The enchanting form of Rama arouses lust in Surpanakha, the sister of Ravana. She requests him to make her his wife. Rama directs her to his brother. She shamelessly proposes to the handsome Lakshmana also. Lakshmana, in his turn, sends her back to Rama. She feels that it is Sita who stands between Rama and her. So she springs on Sita. Lakshmana mutilates Surpanakha with his sword. Wailing and fuming with anger, she describes her plight to Khara. Khara, Dushana and Trisiras attack Rama with their army only to be liquidated by the son of Dasaratha.
